30 Dec WHAT’S NEXT? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WITH YOUR LIFE?
“What do you really want to do in your life? Let say that you are that rich, you don’t even have to think about money..” she asked me. I was the one who should ask her questions, not the other way around.
“Traveling. I want to travel the world and be happy.” I replied.
“Supposed that you’ve traveled the world and do all of those things, what do you want to do, then?” She asked that question again, not satisfied with my (dishonest, typical) answer.
“Writing. Hoping my words leave marks and make a difference in their life.” I didn’t know which part of my heart that words were coming from. But, it just slipped out from my mouth
“There you go, girl” she smiled.
Little did I expect that the interview I had for PermataBank’s book project would turn out to be a heart to heart sister talk, with Mba Nina Moran, Co-founder of GoGirl! Magazine.
What about you? What do you really want in your life?
I am asking that ultimate question I got last December to you, before we’re moving on to 2018. Why? Simply because that question truly is a powerful tool in encompassing and planning our life.
Isn’t it what we are always curious about? We’re always wondering about what should we do with our life, what kind of New Year resolution we shall make and what’s next. The more we ask about it, the more we realize we are still not sure about it. At the end of the day, we end up with the conclusion
“I don’t know what I really want in my life. I don’t know about my passion. I don’t even know what I like and what I am good at.”
All we know is.. that not knowing part scares us even more. Don’t you think so?
Chances are high that we don’t know our passion because we never try. Sometimes we know what we don’t like first, before knowing what we like. We gotta explore more.
On top of all ..
Have you ever asked God about your true calling? As simple as asking Him, what He wants us to do with our life, what kind of mission God wants us to fulfill and the purpose of giving us those particular talents.
Maybe, we’re just too afraid to ask those questions. Because, we all know that most of the times, God’s plan are different than ours. What makes it even worse, we’ve heard it enough somewhere that following His plan might require us to sacrifice this and that, including our dreams and our picture perfect of ideal life.
So, what’s next? Rather than trying to figure it out by yourself, ask Him. Find out and say yes to God’s calling. Embrace and endure the process. Stay faithful and be amazed of where He will bring you to a level you’ve never imagined before.
I never think that God made us just to be a mediocre, live life to just go with the flow without any purpose, then die without leaving trace in someone’s life. We can be the impact in their life when we keep doing what God has called us to do. It’s just a matter of whether we want to or not.
Say yes to His calling and the rests will be a history you’ll remember next year.
2018 will be an amazing divine journey with God. Good luck
